Microneedling

Microneedling has become one of the best treatments for stimulating the growth of collagen and elastin, which is the key to new, youthful-looking skin. This innovative treatment triggers the generation of new skin cells using the body’s own natural healing mechanisms. Microneedling is a new way to achieve skin rejuvenation, tightening, and scar remodeling.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine that can help treat the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the skin’s overall appearance. It involves using fine needles to create hundreds of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of skin for the purpose of breaking down old scar tissue and stimulate skin cells for proliferation. This results in the creation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers, as well as improved blood supply..

Why Microneedling?

Microneedling is safe and effective for all types and colors of skin. It works the same way lasers do, but only injuring the skin mechanically instead of using heat or light which eliminates the risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. Microneedling provides several benefits to your skin. It improves the quality and texture of the skin, reduces pore size, fine lines and wrinkles, improves the look of disfiguring scars from surgery, accidents or acne, among other benefits.

It can be done on any area of skin that needs an improvement including legs, back, arms, glutes, and face.

What areas can be treated?

  • Face
  • Thighs

Microneedling Q & A

Depending on the depth used during treatment, most people experience mild redness and in some cases a little swelling. The same way you may feel with a mild sunburn. Effects may last for 24-48 hours and there may be pinpoint bleeding. Within several days to several weeks you will notice a smoother, brighter, and more radiant appearance. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment.

Numbing cream can be applied prior to the treatment to minimize or eliminate any pain.

Microneedling can be safely repeated every 4 to 6 weeks until the desired results are achieved. For collagen induction it is recommended to start with 3 treatments every of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. The number of treatments required depends on how each person responds to the treatments, and the extent of the damage at the beginning of the treatment.
